Anjali Downs is a Partner at Epstein Becker Green and Managing Shareholder of the firm’s Washington, DC office. A nationally recognized healthcare regulatory attorney, she counsels providers, physician groups, health systems, and healthcare companies on compliance, fraud and abuse laws, and government investigations. Anjali has deep expertise in the False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, and Stark Law, and regularly defends clients in audits, whistleblower claims, and enforcement actions.
She is known for aligning clients’ risk tolerance with business objectives, and for developing innovative defenses and compliance strategies that have reduced exposure to costly settlements and program exclusion. Her work includes guiding organizations through corporate integrity agreements, building effective compliance programs, and advising on coding, coverage, and payment issues for government and commercial payors, as well as representing organizations in government investigations.
